I was always hoping CT would be put on the GBA, but it never happened wonder if Square-Enix should put the game on the DS, but Id wonder what would happen about graphics.

absolutely not. psp, yes, but ds? no. the cartoony 3-d style doesnt appeal to me, and while it may work for iii and iv, it wont for chrono trigger

At this point, I'm a bit sick of remakes. Can't people just go out and by the PS version?

One question: how do the people who remake the game convert the original character designs to a more realistic style? Is that even possible?

I'm also quite sick of FF remakes. However games like Chrono Trigger and other non-FF games could use a portable version. Be it DS or PSP. Just stay away from the cell...

No.
Chrono Break I'd welcome with open arms, but enough with the pointless remaking!

Some of us people enjoy remakes because we never got to play the game the first time around. When most of the SNES games came out, I was too young to understand them or even try to go find them in the first place. I would love to see Chrono Trigger on the DS so I don't have to play it our old, stinking computer anymore! And who knows, the remake could be freaking sweet.

The trademark on Chrono Break expired a few years ago. If there ever is a Chrono sequel, it might not be called Break.

But yeah, I've played through CT at least five or six times, so I might not buy a remake or port right away. My purchasing decision would depend on what kind of extras they put in it and the extent to which it was remade. I'm with SilverMaduin - I'd definitely prefer a new Chrono game over a new version of Chrono Trigger.

Psst...they probably haven't figured out how to make a sequel yet. I can imagine they'd have had enough trouble just making Chrono Cross already.

Though I'd say they should do one of the following:
- either put a copy of the game into an inexpensive form that's usable on a portable system (just to get a portable copy), OR
- totally revise the game, improving may things vastly, from correcting errors to possibly giving new gameplay possibilities (e.g. moving one's characters?). Just make sure all new features stay in the spirit of the original game.

Oh, also, adding the Jet Bike Special, the Character Special, and the Music Special would be lovely.

current games (2024-02-19):
Fairy Fencer F ADF
Pokémon Perfect Crystal

finished so far this year:
Gato Roboto

New Super Mario Bros.
TMNT 3: Radical Rescue

Were you aware that there is a PS version available. Considering the fact that you just need a PS2 to play it (I'm not sure about the PS3), I don't see the point of making another remake. Or, at least, complaining about not playing it.

As far as there being a remake of Chrono Trigger I would say put it on DS. Why?
Because it would greatly benefit from the touch screen such as the Epoch when you travel through time with it you can use the stylus to choose the time period.
Also while I highly don't recommend this if they really had to add a new area why not a whole new time period with extra accessories that give you new triple techs to use. But they would have to be very careful not to mess up the originality of the remake like another remake thats already out there if y'all know which one I'm talking about. And getting back to the touch screen aspect it could be used for the battle scenes to choose what attacks to use rather than blocking off part of the screen which would be a major problem on PSP being the game was not originally designed for such a wide screen. Finally if they remade the game again they should keep the graphics the same not 3D and add voice overs and keep the animated cut scenes from PS but add an option for whether or not to see them for people that want a more old school experience.

As long as it keeps the same graphics and style I will be pleased; tough I played it way back in the 90s on an emulator, the improvements this remake will have may be worth it. Also, the PS version was good, if it weren't for the awful loading times before each battle.

This sounds amazing, but the countdown is so cryptic that i thought that it was just a teaser until the article was spilled. I totally want to keep the 3/4 view and toriyama style, but the battle system might do good with a slight tweaking...definately less load times, and maybe a new main menu for equipment, techs, etc.

There is both good and bad possibilities for this game, but only TIME will tell...

Some developers insist on giving games flashy graphics rather than timeless graphics.. I personally hate it!

For example FFVII is timeless in its graphical appeal, FFXII isnt because its graphics have aged horribly.. (it gives my a headache for the first hour while my eyes 'adjust' on my 32" HDTV)

Others games like Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga work well on modern HDTVs because the graphics are artistic and clean!
You mess with flashy graphical flair and it normally ends up being good at the time but very dated when you get yourself a better display! Stick with frankly 'old' clean graphics and the appeal of the game's story and mechanics isnt torn to shreds by 'at-the-time' good 3D graphics!
