This is the wrong place for pointing out errors: we have a forum aptly named Errors & Troubleshooting for that matter. Had you read this, you would have noticed that the matter of the Deep Dungeon was settled little time ago, and announced in this thread.

Yes. First suggestion is post FAQ items here, not questions you can't answer. -R51

HOW CAN I BEAT WEIGRAF IN A ONE ON ONE MATCH?

Here's my strategy...first, make Ramza a monk, yes a monk, not a knight or a squire or anything like that. Make sure you have learned at least Chakra, Wave Fist, and Earth Slash, Counter helps as well.

His abilities should be
Punch Skill
Guts
Counter (or Dragon Spirit)
Equip Armor
Move +2

The reason I suggest dragon spirit is because he likes to use that pesky lightning stab, that tends to kill you rather quickly, this will grant you reraise after you get hit.

Now for the actual battle, the first thing you wanna do is Yell for the first 5 to 7 turns. This will boost your speed enough to give you an advantage. Next Accumulate like crazy, as much as makes you comfortable, remembering to use Chakra if you get hurt to bad.

Now for equipment, hopefully you've been doing some extra fighting on the Mandalia Plains, where those oh so helpful Knights tend to show up with uber powerful equipment, and no techniques. If you're lucky, or thorough, or just bored to all hell, you can score some crystal mail, maybe even a reflect mail or two, but I think crystal is where it tops out. Equip your best armor and helmet, for accesories, use that diamond thingy, ya know the one that's prevents don't act, don't move and stop ( the name eludes me.) And you should be safe from the Lightning stab. The only real threat now is crush punch, but somehow wiegraf seems to have forgotten that technique that he dominated your party with in chpter one ( and don't say he didn't, with crush punch, wiegraf owned everybody)

After this preperation and someluck, you shouldn't have much of a problem. As for part two of the battle, hope you brought a knight and a lancer!

The Deep Dungeon is way too difficult! I can't see where I'm standing! Is there any way to make it easier?

Well, you've got two options. Either let an enemy crystalize (every crystal in the field will lighten up the battleground a bit) or use attacks which can hit several squares at once (Beowulf's Shock! and Worker 8's Dispose come to mind right now).

All of the items in the Dungeon are Phoenix Downs! What's wrong?

Your Item Finder has too much Brave tongue.gif To get the good items, you'll need a party member with low Brave. Rafa is perfect for this (real low Brave), and Beowulf's Brave is quite low as well. Consider both of these options.

i dont know if its been mentioned but for stealing from elmdor, punch art increases your chance of stealing as well.

For the deep dungeon use teleport to see where all the squares are cause its range is infinite ulike shock and dispose.

You get 1/4 of the exp from other units, not 1/6. i checked this to make sure. i had a low level hit the enemy. he got 12jp and my second chasracter(same class) got 3jp.

@spicer:

wrong topic, but for emerald get final attack pheonix and big guard and it aint very hard any more.

I find it MUCH easier to learn Ultima at the Gates rather than inside Limberry. Simply give Ramza a N-Kai Armlet and a Black Costume and they'll almost always hit you with Ultima. The only thing you have to worry about is the Apanda's hitting you with a status that prevents you from learning it.

As a side note, Ramza must be in the Squire Class.

How to do the JP Scroll Glitch:

db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/final_fantasy_tactics_page_down.txt

The Battle Mechanics Guide: (pretty much every formula you can imagine)

db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/final_fantasy_tactics_battle_mechanics.txt

As for the 1/6 vs 1/4 JP thing... Other units get 1/4 JP, but they get 1/6 JP if the original unit has Gained JP Up. It ends up being the same amount for them anyway.

For stealing from Elmdor:

5 Units. Ramza, Female Thief (ideally best compat with Elmdor), someone with Time Magic (being able to Math it would be even better) Orlandu, Beowulf. Equip everyone with 108 Gems to prevent Blood Suck

Ramza should have Yell. Have him constantly use Yell on the Thief. Yell increases her success rate as well as the amount of times she'll get the use Steal.

The Thief needs all the Stealing abilities (duh). She also should have max Speed equips. Steal from the back, starting with the shield first.

The person with Time Magic should just keep Ramza/Thief hasted and Elmdor Slowed.

Orlandu should have Speed Break and Lightning Stab. Give him Excalibur and max PA equips. Lightning Stab should one-shot the Assassins, then kill their demon forms in one hit as well. From there on out Speed Break Elmdor.

Beowulf should Chicken Elmdor. Blade Grasp works on a Br% basis, so if it's at 0 he won't be using it at all which will help your thief out a ton.

How do i beat deep dungeon?

killing the enemies isn't enough. you have to find an exit on a random square out of the five possible squares for exits, basically sweep the place....of course there are cordinates on grids and stuff but every grid ive seen on the web is different do it'd be pointless to list coordinates

An enemy having the same amount of speed as my character without any speed alteration acted twice before me, what's going on!?

This is because of the amount of actions that are taken with a unit. If you move and act with your unit, your CT after your turn will reset to 0. If you use either move or act, your turn will end with 20CT. And if you just use wait, your turn will end with 40CT. Try to use this at your advantage: you can easily revive your dead units when their CT is almost full, so your enemies won't kill your unit before they get a turn.

Why doesn't my Reflect Mail stop Fire 4?

That's an easy one, Fire 4 cannot be reflected. To learn if a spell can be reflected or not, simply look at the spell description. If there is an arrow that forms a semi-circle (or a curlycew, whatever is more comfortabl terminology) then the spell can be reflected. Always check the descriptions!

I want to use the Chirijiriden Samurai ability but I don't want to waste my sword, what do I do?

catch them from the HORROR ninjas

With the catch ability as my counter, I have a hard time when I don't run into ninjas down in HORROR

(my solution) make one character a ninja (cause of the high speed) and give him/her secret clothes, thief hat and sprint shoes to increase his/her speed, keep that char out of harms way and NEVER act. Then make the only other characters you bring females wearing chantage, barettes, and reflect mail (chantage for re-raise, reflect mail to avoid those pesky spells and barette to avoid petrification). So long as you keep your transparent ninja transparent (don't act, get hurt or get any negative status effects) you can't lose the battle and your chars will keep reviving, eventually you'll run into the ninjas

note: personally I make my females have item so you can revive any ninjas that accidentally get death sentence (as they may throw something useful)

This is very unnecessary. All you have to do is have Orlandu learn the 2-swords ability from the ninja class and set his job class as a Holy Swordsman. Then all you have to do is the sword-duplication trick.

It will be easy on defeating Weigraf if Ramza is a monk, just use wave fist or earth slash on him and set move hp up at his movement

but it will be difficult for Ramza when you're fighting Velius

I've finished Velius first and just ignored those 3 Archaic demons at his back

You don't do well with the reading, eh? This is a place to submit answered questions for the FAQ, not to ask ones you don't know the answer to.

Just curious...but for a FAQ - what about SCC (single-class challange) or the like?

For example: DCC (dual) Ninjas and Time Mages.

Then one or more could complete the challenge and report on their progress/findings.

...just a thought. wacko.gif

Ok here's mine question:

I learned Zodiac, but how do I make ALL my units learn it?

--------------------
In order to find your oppenent's weakness, you must first learn their pattern. Once you know their pattern, you can build a counter strategy.

Yeah, you don't do well either with the reading, do you? Here's a friendly reminder : The Rules, chapter 1a.

I noticed an inconsistancy, you do not need to first visit Zarghidas to start the sidequest, when chapter 4 started, I went and did a bunch of Prepositions first, and when I hit Goug, the cutscene first introducing Worker 8 as a ball (before the zodiac stone is inserted) started, and I went to and completed the Goland Colliery part, and went back to recieve Worker 8 succesfully. However, the cutscene showing the mobile "forwarding device" did not show, it only showed after I bought the flower from Zarghidas.

I've retested using a distributed save file on ePSXe, and I reconfirmed it.

Edit
Err, sorry, this should be in the errors and troubleshooting forum blush.gif should I just repost there?

I start by ensuring that at least one of those characters initially facing off against Elidibs/Serpentarius a male that has NOT learned any summon magic<--this will come in handy later. If you've already gotten through that battle and weren't able to set things up like that, don't worry about it.

What we're going to try doing is getting some random enemy in some random battlefield to charm your character. My favorite place to do this is the Voyage level of the Deep Dungeon, due to the high incidence of archers (the female archers tending to have Steal Heart ability far more often than the males, hence making the character to be charmed male).

To make sure that your charmed character will actually cast Zodiac when charmed, I remove his secondary ability set and I make sure that everyone has blade grasp and 97 brave (and then I immediately raise each characters brave to 100 when the battle starts; thank you, Cheer Up). This will prevent your charmed character from trying to smack someone over the head, and prevent him from using some other skills.

At that point, it's just a matter of waiting for those female archers to show up. smile.gif

One way that makes it easier is to have the summoner who learned it initially get charmed by an enemy thief (in a random battle) and then have the rest of your team be summoners. That way you can get attacked by your own guy who knows Zodiac.

Noticed some of the FAQs have somewhat lacking answers wanted to add some more stuff to the answers:

It's really hard to steal that great Genji equipment from Elmdor. Any tips?

Some more tips:
-Use Knights to Speed Break him, slower enemies = better chance of stealing
-Steal his Shield First
-Have multiple thieves and someone to raise their speed
-Use Time Mage/Other Units to put him in Stop
-Turn him into a frog, makes him far less of a threat!

How do I defeat Wiegraf/Velius?

To defeat nearly any zodiac base bossed such as Velius, use an Oracles life drain ability. For some reason Lucavi take heavy damage from this attack (eg: 800-999 range)
