Related to laszlow's recent newspost, Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger have been confirmed for released in North America. FFVI will be released both on the Playstation Network and the Wii Virtual Console, whereas CT will be solely on the PSN. This information was leaked by the ESRB recently. No date has been specified for their release, nor any information about European releases.

FFVI and CT? Two of the board at large's favorite games. Squenix knows what they're doing here, and all you old fogeys who remember when these games came out first are gonna get the chance to relive all that without resorting to emulation (or handhelds). I can't wait either!

This is amazing news to me since I don't use my Wii anymore. Having FF6 on the PSN would be a very tempting offer to pass up.

Dare I buy these games yet one more time?

I wonder why CT won't be on the Wii Virtual Console? It seems like it would basically be just one more ROM dump for them...

Maybe because they're just doing the PS version, with all the extra cutscenes, and because there was already the port onto the DS?

I'd love to see the SNES version ported, though, but we'll see.

It is being released on the VC. It's going to be released sometime soon in Japan, and later will be released everywhere else.

And here's the confirmation. The ESRB has rated Chrono Trigger for the Virtual Console, so both CT and FF6 will be on the PSN and VC. Have fun!

I have a PSP so I'm very excited that they're going to be releasing FF6 as a dlc. So happy! I have the GBA version of the game, but I'm really looking forward to downloading it onto my PSP as well; especially if they have those cutscenes like the PSX version...or maybe some revamped ones.
