I was just wondering how fast everyone has beat this game. I'm not completely sure if I still have the results thing for the ps1 version anymore, I know I don't have the save since I never copied it to my hdd before I lost/got stolen my ps2 memory card. My fastest time was 5:04 and I think my highest level was 29? Don't remember. Lowest was somewhere in the tens.

I beat the SNES version in like 10 hours without really trying to, but I think the speedrun is 4 hours and some change. I don't know if you can expect faster or slower results from the PSX version since I think some of the speedrun-friendly bugs were fixed. On the other hand, you don't have a dash button in the original.

Either way, 5 hours is an excellent time. I have some friends who watch the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy back to back sometimes, and it would be great to tell them, "No, I'd rather play all the way through FF6 and then take a nap."

I agree, five hours is blazing fast. Back row, spam abilities, right?

It was a long time ago but for the most part I ran away from enemies and used the slot doom glitch and vanish break/doom stuff. Can't remember much. I think I had 6-7 players at the end.

5 hours is incredibly fast. Anyways, I always have trouble with speed runs, I say I'm going to beat the game as fast as I can, but then stop myself, because I always end up telling myself I need to beat it the right way. Anyways, my lowest time is like 18 hours give or take an hour or 2.

I think around the 20 hour mark for me also. Though I've not tried to speed run this I prefer to take my time and get all the characters, items and sidequests!

I do that most times when I play games anymore. I've played it a lot so it's fun to redo the whole thing again.

Wow. I didn't know there would still be activity/posts about a game as old as FF6. Awesome stuff ha. How long have I taken? Eh; I spend way too much time on games as good as this, usually ending up with over 90+ hours 'cause I like to explore a lot and definitely finish out character stories/side-quests. I like a game that offers great character development; and even more that isn't required to be done via the main storyline. And this game, FF6, is chock-full of good stuff.

I just started it over again now, actually. Been so long since I played it, everything seems new again. Already it's dragged me into liking the characters all over again.

Each playthrough is around 30 hours for me (the first was longer, of course). I just have to do everything in the World of Ruin or I won't be satisfied.

What a great game.

Played for the first time in about a decade just last week. Didn't really like it, skipped through the WoR and ended up finishing in about 13 hours.
