I want to own at least 1, and wondering if psp version does anything better, and if it has the mature story of the original.

The PSP version adds cutscenes and two more optional characters with associated sidequests. It also has a better localization to English. On the downside, out of the box it has an annoying slowdown issue during animations like spells or other actions that include custom effects (though a user-generated patch is now available if you have a PSP that can play games from the memstick).

I enjoyed the PSP port very much, but I also enjoyed the PSX original just as much for the many years where it was the only option.

Neither is better. Both do things better than the other, and both do things worse than the other. The core story is the same.

I've only played the PSP version, and I really loved it. I never found the slowdown notable, but then again I was not used to the PSX version.

The PSP version may be even better than the PSX version for one simple reason, as far as I
am concerned Ramza's main job class leaves a lot to be desired... especially considering your unit is battling the forces of evil all on its own. In the PSP version, Square added the Dark Knight job class which is an amazing secondary class for Ramza- while powerful, this class has extremely hindered movement and also has a very low speed. Any player on your team can achieve this job class, but given all the pre reqs, I'd leave it to 1 or 2 people: after all, you get many characters with specialty classes of their own. The only downside to playing the PSP version is holding the PSP for hours at a time.

Question:Anyone hear a way to play psp games on a big screen tv? Cause it would be more comfortable, and wouldn't need to waste psp batteries.

Even though that's not even the topic you asked about originally, no.

It's possible to connect a PSP to a television depending on your PSP model and if you have the right cables, but it's not possible to play UMD games without actually having the PSP in your hands as the controller.

I only own the old psp model, and wanted to enjoy tactics on a big screen.

Which model is the 'old' model?

At the moment, there are three PSP models: The original, massive system, the PSP-2000, and the PSP-3000. It's been quite some time, and if I recall, the original PSP system cannot output video to TVs - that was one of the selling points of the 2000. The 2000 can't output to standard definition TVs; it requires component video cables and a TV capable of accepting progressive scan video input (admittedly, not an issue for 90% of new TVs today). The 3000 is the best option for TV output, in my opinion - It can output to an HD TV using the progressive scan option, or using composite video cables (the old red, white, yellow ones) it can output in standard definition to regular TVs.

Regardless of which option you use, your PSP's video output will not fill the screen. You'll wind up with a black border around all the edges, so while it will be much, much bigger than on the PSP screen, it won't give you the full experience, per se.
