So, I was browsing the web, and found a few theories. I don't support most of these, and some don't make sense to me at all, but I wanted to share.

•Gogo is a woman.

•Kefka actually wins.
After you beat him, there's a wonderful ending sequence. Then, after the credits, you're put back in the place you saved right before fighting him. According to this theory, Kefka never died at all, and just made you think you won.

•Kefka is Baram.
Based on the fact that their sprites are somewhat similar in appearance.

•The people of Figaro can breathe in outer space.
Because of the "being buried for x amount of time".

•Kefka was awake during the infusion, which may have been or have involved some sort of surgical procedure. It doesn't help that it was imperfect at the time.
After all, why else would you put a small child to sleep during the infusion if it were painless? A small child can easily be held down, so using anesthesia on her to stop her struggling would be a waste.

This next one requires some suspension of disbelief, and I myself had a hard time believing it. But hey, food for thought.
•Kefka is actually Marche Radiuju from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.
This theory states that Marche is Kefka as a child, and that is why you never hear of his back story besides the infusion driving him mad. Apparently, after the multiple betrayals of the people Marche considered his friends(even his little brother) and the possible death of the only person he could trust (a moogle called Montblanc, who can be killed in-game, permanently), Marche wasn't quite the same after returning home. Not insane mind you, just more introverted. As for getting to the world of FFVI, it claims that he inadvertently used the Grimorie a friend of his used to take them to the world of FFTA. However, that world was a dream, and the world of FFVI was not. Apparently a different spell from the book had to be used. Marche was either forcibly enlisted in the Imperial army, or joined of his own free will. He also changed his name, due to paranoia, as last time this had happened people had hunted him down. Since he was so tiny (5'4 and 105lbs) he was "voluntold" to get the Magicite infusion.

•Terra and Celes are the same person, split in two.
Apparently. No explanation was given for this one.

•Celes is Maria. Not just a look-alike.
Did you know that opera singing not only takes years to master, but no two singers sound the same? Real head scratcher there.

I think that the only one of these theories I've heard is Kefka is Baram. It would make more sense if Gogo was Baram, which itself doesn't make sense. The Clyde/Baram incident occurs ten years before the events of the game. At that time, Kefka would have already had the infusion, because Celes had it when she was a baby and Kefka had it first.

Yeah, the first place I look for reliable information on video games is Tumblr... actually, that sort of adherence to evidence-based theories is probably one of the reasons there's not much crossover between Tumblr and here, ha.

Eh, I don't think most if them do either. Except Celes could be Maria, but hey, it's just a theory I'm glad these are improbable/implausible for the most part.

Baram looks more like Edgar if you ask me.

The only one of these that seems remotely possible is that Gogo is a woman, and that's because Gogo's sex is completely unknown.



Tumblr's a great place if you're trying to amuse yourself, but these "rumors" are all kinda worthless. I mean, really?

Baram is just a palette swap of all those NPCs that walk around Zozo.

I love those kinds of theories. I agree with some, others like the ones you just posted, I find entertaining. If I ever could get my writing truly published, I would encourage people to make theories like this, because it means I've provoked thought. Even if it's ludicrous or trollish, it still caught enough attention to provoke it.

I love them too.
I don't agree with most of them, but they all caught my eye.
Especially the FFTA one, because that was my first Final Fantasy ever. (That didn't scare me away anyhow. )
I can see how it could be possible just in an abstract sense.

I'm not sure about the Celes/Maria thing. I'm not sure if they asked her to sing, but then again she only has to do one song. Maybe she sang close enough to not cause any suspicion, or since it was just one aria it went by too quickly to notice.

I don't think she seemed to know Setzer, and I also think that the seasoned opera goers were probably more perturbed by the giant talking blue octopus!
