Biography

Faris is coarse a pirate captain whose crew has a secret hideout at the end of the cave system west of Tycoon. Faris is very respected among the pirates, with some crew members' respect bordering on adoration. Years earlier, Faris rescued an orphaned sea serpent named Syldra, and Syldra has been the pirates' official tow ever since, allowing the ship to freely travel in seas with no wind blowing. Faris agrees to accompany Bartz, Lenna, and Galuf to the Wind Shrine and lend them her ship, specifically when Lenna mentions the king of Tycoon. At the Wind Shrine, the crystals identify Faris with the spirit of fire, Courage.

Faris's stats are very well-balanced, with higher Speed than Bartz but lower Strength. This makes Faris good for just about any job, but a bit better-accustomed to physical-oriented jobs than magic-oriented jobs. Again, these statistical differences have only a minor effect on characters' performance in battle, so players are encouraged to place characters in whatever class they prefer to rather than solely go by what the stats dictate. Faris's natural element is Fire, so as such in Final Fantsay V Advance Faris's Finisher skill deals fire damage.
