| Beatrix from FF9! She's one of my favorite women of FF, actually in video games in general. She was powerful, elegant, chivalrous, and sexy all at once. This started as a sketch, then I wanted to try to tighten my line art to make it cleaner. Then I wanted to tighten my rendering. Then I just used the picture to practice everything and tried to learn as much as I could from it. It's been a while, but I feel like I lvled up a bit in art skill doing this. I like this quite a lot. Beatrix is, hands down, my favorite character from IX, so it's hard to go wrong that way with me in any case. 
But I am also a sucker for well-done lighting, and I enjoy the way the light falls in this piece immensely. | |

| An absolutely lovely piece! The design is great, of both she and the background. Love the attention to detail in terms of her design being executed.
If I wanted to be particularly critical, the shading doesn't quite fit with the lighting provided in the background, though at the same time, I *think* there're two light sources, which is tricky? So you probably know better than I and nailed it, but not sure. I feel like it'd be a bit more severe on the shadowing of her face, but meh! Either way, this is gorgeous! | |
